PHOTOGRAPHY, TO ME, IS THE ACT OF RECOGNISING A MOMENT OF HARMONY WITHIN THE FLOW OF LIFE – AND PRESERVING IT.

Being portrayed is an unusual experience. For a while, someone looks at you with an attention that rarely belongs to everyday life.

I believe a portrait can reveal something we already carry within us, but perhaps have never really seen. This is what has fascinated me about photography for more than forty years: its ability not simply to describe how we look, but to tell something about who we are.

Over the years, I have photographed actors, musicians, artists and entrepreneurs for Italian and international publications. But I have learned that being accustomed to a camera does not necessarily make a portrait more revealing.
Today I bring that same attention, experience and care to people who may never have stood on a set before. Because you don’t need to be a celebrity to deserve an extraordinary portrait.

What began almost instinctively, as a way of preserving the people, places and moments around me, gradually became a way of understanding them. And perhaps of understanding myself. That curiosity has never left me. It has taken me from editorial assignments and encounters with remarkable people to books, exhibitions and teaching — different worlds, but always with the same fascination: people, their stories, and what a photograph can reveal about them.

My work has appeared in Italian and international publications, and over the years I have portrayed leading figures from cinema, music, culture and business. I am the author of two photographic books, Circus Life – Everynight, All Around the World and A Poet in Action. My work has been exhibited in Italy and abroad, including at Triennale Milano, MIA – Milan Image Art Fair, Palazzo dell’Archiginnasio in Bologna and Atelier Renault on the Champs-Élysées in Paris. Alongside photography, I teach and hold portrait workshops in Italy and abroad. Teaching keeps me curious and reminds me never to take what I know for granted.

We had a lovely day, which was both professionally rewarding and fun.

I was delighted to work with Gianluigi, whom I chose for his friendship and professionalism. Gianluigi was able to create the atmosphere I wanted, with a clever use of light and choosing a special location. Being a photographer’s daughter, I find it hard to stand in front of a camera… Gianluigi succeeded in making me feel completely at ease, so that I could freely express what is apparently invisible in my work. I’m a yoga teacher and I work with sound therapy, so it’s not easy to break out of the usual patterns of yoga posture, commonly trivialized through photos, but thanks to the vibe that was created, I believe we really hit our mark!

Overcome shyness and act naturally as a “model”. All this without embarrassment and struggle. This is how I felt.
